| I prayed with passion at the Meeting last night... |

Among other things, I prayed fervently that the Lord would cause us all to realize a few necessary things. That when we cuss at our leaders in politics, cuss the evil corporate CEOs, and cuss all those other people that make "the big decisions", that we would realize that WE are the ones who drive their decisions.
I spoke eloquently, quoting Washington's "Beware of the baneful effects of the spirit of Party.". I spoke of how our demands to our Congressmen and Senators drive a large amount of their policy. I spoke of how that causes pork to go to one place and not to another, and that that's all our (the average person's) fault.
I spoke carefully and calmly about the sniping and bitterness between people do to their petty politics. I spoke of how this undermines us, and turns us from one nation into a plethora of petty principalities.
I spoke of our constant greed for more dividends and higher stock prices, which causes company boards to think only of the next quarter, or at most six months, lest they be fired at the next shareholders meeting.
I spoke of all this, and prayed fervently that we could be healed of all this stupidity.
[Sigh] Then I went home, went to bed, and woke up from my dream. I hate, despise, and abominate politics. |
