I especially like the button. :) I recall a self defense seminar from a few years ago. One of the speakers mentioned a study that was conducted with a few hundred inmates serving time for muggging, robbery, etc. One of the questions was "why/how did you choose your victims?" A large majority answered along the lines of "they 'looked' like victims." Basically, 'predadtors' look for 'prey'. You mentioned that a lot of your trouble stopped whout you actually "doing" anything. You just stopped looking like prey. A child with confidence doesn't look like prey, and the predators will move on to easier targets.
