While it is WAY cool (I've got it too, just haven't played much due to cute, adorable tiny person who loves cuddling), it's not true fencing as most people think of it. (I did fencing in college for fun. No competitions, just learning with dry weapons.) It's more like the gladiator game with the javelins, but with swords instead. Not so much of the fancy stuff with right of way rules.
I'm betting that it's part skill and partly too easy. When you get hit, there's no slow down to your movements as there would be in real life. However, if you're hitting the opponent off the circle faster than he knocks you, you do have skills regarding the forcing of the opponent to the edge and over. |
