Monetary Commentary by Illiad2009-08-24 13:35:43
Usury is not in itself parasitic. You get what you by adiplomat2009-08-24 13:57:04

"purchasing consumables with debt money". You need to borrow to buy something that has a return.
  • A business borrowing to buy capital means of production is great.
  • A business borrowing to pay workers is shakier, but it's alright if those workers are going to make you enough money to pay back the loans and then some.
  • A person borrowing to buy a car is fine, if the car is necessary to their earning potential.
  • A person borrowing to buy a house... may be worth it, especially in a family situation where the years of stability and comfort pay dividends that are worth the monetary cost.
  • A person borrowing to buy a TV... is a sign of something gone very wrong.
