I feel the same way driving my car. I've often joked with my wife that I need to put some big spikes dripping blood on the front of the car for people to notice me.

Therefore, I do drive like I'm invisible. I assume every single person waiting to turn left is likely going to turn in front of me. Or that person who's just off my front bumper hanging on the lane marker, yeah, he's going to change lanes into my lane WITHOUT a signal.

What saddens me is how often I predict correctly atrocious behaviour.
