situation. You should do whatever is the "most safe" be it the law or society. In most cases though, the laws are there to provide a structure that is the "most safe" but at the same time, you have to be willing to break the laws if they will get you injured or worse. Example: If running a light will keep you from getting hit by an 18wheeler that has lost it's breaks...yes, you broke the law in running the red light...but you are still alive....
