with that statement, but in general, it is bad taste to call someone a racist, unless they have a significant history of saying and doing racist things. I think the default should be to give people the benefit of the doubt that their heart is good and non-racist.
To be fair, liberals also have a tendency to call people they disagree with racist. But usually they are talking in generalities, as to not harm/libel a specific person. This *can* be even more damaging because it hurts public debate as often ligament points of view are just dismissed as racist.
In short, please don't call people racist unless the person you are accusing of being a racist as a history of making clear racist statements and actions. And to be honest, I have a tendency to think that people who make such statements regularly are the real racists.
PS. By my own logic, do that make me racist, since i just said people who call people racist are racist? |
