Some folks who saw (!) them told me that the psycho killer in "Saw" had his own insane reasons for torturing people. I like horror/thriller movies, especially when they dig inside the mind of some insane individual and/or the artistic aspect of the movie makes it interesting. For example, I liked "The Cell".

Fact is, I haven't detected any reason for what the bad guy in "The Collector" did, be it insane or not. The artistic aspect was also missing from the landscape, IMO.
