Had the degree, as well as the "I Must Save The World, One Poor Helpless Soul At A Time" attitude. She refused to actually listen to what she was told, always putting HER spin on everything, which was flat out wrong. (I had both more theory AND more practice than she'd had, since I had a VERY strong motivation to learn psychology since I was 10, and I was 21 at the time.)
She goaded me beyond endurance with that c4, so I constructed a "me" to fit her preconceptions. We continued thru this for more than 6 months, with her happily "solving" all "my" issues, and me playing. Then she began getting files on me from various places. Some from youth homes where I'd been counseled, some from psychiatrists' practices, etc. I'd requested them and arranged to have them sent to her.
One day she confronted me, since of course all that info was contradictory to everything she "knew" about me. I explained all of what was going on, including my role in getting all my files sent to her, and why. I don't know if she ever went back into psychology, and I do know that if a crazed revenge-ridden former psychologist ever gruesomely murders me, I deserve it. That was the absolute worst thing I have ever done, smashing someone's illusions like that.
Now you know why I absolutely despise people manipulating people, for the most part. The only possible "good" effect of that was that at least that poor idiot might actually listen to her patients, and not make up her own ideas about what's going on in the future. |
