The bees work within their programming to do what they must do to keep the hive intact. Their programming doesn't even recognise that what they are doing is keeping the hive intact, each one is just a small cog in the machine.

They all follow their 'laws of nature' from the subatomic up to wandering where the electronic potentials in their brain tell them to go, and the result is the hive operates.

They don't show mercy or justice, but they don't slap armbands on the worker bees and ship them out in cattle cars either. They just follow the rules they evolved that makes the hive work best.

I think we're both using "law of nature" in different ways.
