Another one bites the dust. by Nea 2009-05-08 17:09:23
I was laid off (along with 30% of the staff) this afternoon. Next week I go in and clean things up and pass off projects and then after Friday I'm unemployed.

I was actually worried that the company was going under soon, so this isn't an entirely surprising move. They are trying to stay afloat, but man, it sucks for me. It would have been nice to receive some warning at my yearly review on Tuesday.

This weekend I'm going to stick my head in the sand and do nothing, but Monday I'll have to face the office for my final week and start the gears grinding on my very out of practice job search skills. I've been there for 12 years and the job search methods have all changed. It's time for me to do some re-learning on how one does it in this day and age. *sigh*

You may see more of me in the coming weeks, and you may see less of me, it all depends on how this goes.
