why the attitude of the local clerics has changed? Is it that the money is no longer welcome locally? Is the corrupted morals that the money brought now suddenly outweighing the value of having more money? The pirates are now no longer seen as benefactors because of the money they bring, but as sinners because of the way the money was obtained? What it really shows is how the attitude of the local authorities, clerical if not legal, affects the pirates.
