"False statement"? by jdelphiki 2009-05-08 12:45:03
Fallible can also mean to be capable of making an error or mistake. Not just a false statement. If we perceive a creator as being capable of making mistakes in creation, how can we be really trust that the creation we see actually *was* made by it?

I guess the catch would be whether or not creation actually *seems* to be full of mistakes. If we're feel like creation works the way it ought to, but we perceive a flawed creator, we aren't gonna believe that the creator made everything. If we feel that creation works perfectly and we perceive a perfect creator, then we're a lot more likely to buy the creator as having made everything. OTOH, if we feel that creation *doesn't* work perfectly and also perceive a flawed creator, we can probably, at least, buy into the idea that the creator made it all...complete with mistakes. But we might have a harder time trusting our judgement in that case.
