ok, first of all I'm a user, not really a geek by Zoxer 2009-05-08 11:48:34
even if I have been around IT since the beginning eightieth and have learned some programming languages then, and worked in It security. My point of view is only usability for the normal user, who has to use M$-Win. Or better had, because I have seen now several persons of my family, from 40 to 80 who can use Mint out of the box.
Usability for the "normal" user I have often enough claimed in talks with developers and programmers. Since Mint 4 I'm free from Windows.

I can't write a review fairly, because I'm too much in love with it.
I can only say it's the best OS I ever had on my own machine, and I had a lot the last 20years. win from 3.11, Linux from Suse 6.something and a lot of others. Mint 7 Gloria is glorious, It looks good, it worked out of the box. Twenty five minutes after hitting the "Install" button I could put a film dvd in and could see Pride and Prejudice 1995.

But, I can hint you to reviews, written by pros.
