... behave remarkably like domestic cats. In the wild they are solitary creatures but in captivity they behave a little like cubs of their keepers. If a safari park keeps three tigers in the same reserve and one of them dies, the other two will miss it for a while - rather like domestic cats do. I saw this on an episode of "Animal Park" - a BBC series about Longleat house and safari park - and recognised the behaviour that I had seen in domestic cats.
