As part of my campaign setting I'm matching up races to a true dragon species who crowned their first kings and queens.
The Metallics were fairly easy:
Gold: Elves
Silver: Humans
Bronze: Dwarves
Brass: Halflings
Copper: Gnomes
But I'm having a little trouble with the chromatics:
Red: Drow
Black: Orcs
Blue:
Green: Goblins
White: Kobolds
Basically I'm after a race with a personality similar to that of the dragon, habitat and alignment are secondary, (close by, but still secondary). I'm quite happy with the choices for Red and Black, somewhat iffy on green and white, and have absolutely no clue what to do for blue.
What I had in mind was a small/medium-sized race, native to the material plane with a challenge rating similar to that of player races. They must have, at least, a large tribal structure (100 or more in groups), some form of loose, independent society (i.e. not living within or below the cities of other races, such as the Yuan-Ti), and a belief in their own inherent superiority.
I'm not entirey sure that Bugbears, Hobgoblins, or Gnolls fit the bill, and Ogres are right out being scavengers. |
