I've seen captive tigers eat meat thrown into the cage by the keepers. The tigers certainly didn't kill those cows.

Maybe your rule only applies to wild tigers, or maybe if they're hungry enough they'll take carrion. Or maybe, captive tigers still behave like cubs somehow, so they see the food as "mom's kill".

Maybe I'm just not much of an expert on tigers.
