Not quite the UF Philosophy Corner by MatthewDBA2009-04-30 11:30:03

It sounds as if in your conception by MatthewDBA2009-04-30 12:19:31
      Nope. by werehatrack 2009-04-30 12:30:30
But one person trying to engage in evil by themselves will seldom succeed IME; they *need* cohorts. Once they have them, the structure becomes self-perpetuating.

One person *doing good* can make a world of difference alone...and if they don't build a support structure in the process, then the effort ceases when they're gone.

(It should also be noted that damage at the societal level does not heal itself, but societal health can vanish through simple inattention. In other words, the damage done by evil often persists, while the state achieved through promotion of good is often tenuous and fragile.)

Of course, most people have seen this happen, if they've been paying attention.
