Laws exist to *inhibit* people the freedom to do what they want. You don't need a law to be able to do anything - you just do it. Laws are there to make sure people *can't* do just what they want - If you write a best seller, laws do not exist to enable you to write or publish it - they exist so others can't steal it from you. If you get married, laws don't exist to enable you to live with someone - The exist so the Govt can't double-tax you, that your spouse can't be denied certain things, etc.

Laws exist to inhibit, not allow.
