First, I'm not a professional geek; I am a regulator in a city here in WA and part of my job is writing ordinances and permits. When doing so, I HAVE to assume the worst of the regulated companies. Failing to do so will result in the few companies that do have malicious intent (and we have had a very few) to be able to get away with it with commensurate environmental pollution resulting. I work very hard to ensure the regulations I write are fair, but as watertight as a frog's anus. I don't always succeed. <sadface>
