Marriage implies a level of intimacy that incorporates sex as a matter of course. It goes so deep that it includes a sharing of every part of yourself with your partner (including your body). Even assuming the two partners in such a homosexual union equivalent to marriage remained completely celibate throughout their lives, the level of conversational and spiritual intimacy would still be against God's law.
