It was a CS-I course by dennismv2009-04-10 22:13:55

In particular I would like to see this one concepts (with all its applications) taught to CS-I and CS-II students:
* computer memory is one big 1-dimentional array.

By applications I mean things like these:
* variables and how and where they are stored in memory
* arrays (which are like large variables!!)
* pointers (which are variables afterall!)

It seems that with our current curriculum students see the above three concepts as completely different and separate from each other, when they are all neatly and beautifully come out of the "main" concept of memory.

Another "main" concept is how functions work -- exactly how they work. From that concept you can understand buffer overflows and probably a few other things. It is a more advanced concept though. But with these two concepts I think you get a much deeper understanding of computer science than is usually taught . . . at erm .. our place of knowledge.
