      Is this curriculum intended to produce computer by Adiplomat 2009-04-10 22:37:44
designers, as in chips or low-level interfaces? Or are these kids going for software engineering or admins and such. If the lower level, you have a good point. If higher-level operations are all these guys are ever going to touch, then you may want to rethink.

I know a CS doctorate holder. If I remember, I might ask him and see what his take is. (I have to fix his Windows for him, so I do know that CS is DIFFERENT from we mere mortals who work admin.)
