and I was the TA. And the problem was to remove an arbitrary element from an array. Nobody knew how to do it.

I asked a few folks from CS-II course, who were in the same room to help the CS-I students. Not one of them knew what I was talking about. Except one of the students.
He said. Just use "erase" function of the vector.

I said that for the purposes of the exercise we had to implement our own version of the "erase" function. There was a disconnect of comprehension again, as the students talked about the impossibility of erasing an actual hardware memory location.

That was the time I understood*.

*that our Computer Science education curriculum was in need of improvement.
