and it takes a lot to impress me because most things are rehashing of things I've seen a lot previously.

When I was 13-15, there was no money in a film remake of a TV series, for example. It was 1970-1972. There were only 4 or 5 TV channels. Trek was in reruns, BSG hadn't aired yet. TNG hadn't aired yet. *Star Wars* wasn't in production yet...
