As long as there is support for those who would deny people like the young woman in the story the right and means to defend themselves politics will apply. Until this Nation is willing to take a stand and say "this SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" the battle against those who, whether through malice or naivete, seek to abridge a basic human right shall continue. The fact that those who oppose such a basic human right by and large identify with one political group is unfortunate, but a reality none the less.
