...Nixon says the ammunition from and M-4 has the added danger of being designed to penetrate walls, and even cars. The 62 grain SS109 round may penetrate the passenger aree of a car if it doesn't hit anything too substantial. But the 55gr FMJ load many PDs use as well as Hornady's TAP ammunition will not just shoot through anything. Nixon also seems to be ignorant of the FBIs testing that shows the 5.56x45mm round (with the proper projectile) to be safer in urban areas than handguns and shotguns loaded with typical defensive ammunition.
