would seem to me to be awfully difficult.

Even is the destroyer was fairly stable (which I'm not sure it would be, any navy people around that can help with this one?) I'm pretty sure that the lifeboat would be moving about pretty well on the open sea. I'd think that the risk of hitting the captain would be too high to risk.

Now, sending a 20 or so scuba-equipped marines in under the lifeboat is a different situation entirely.
