...and "if you're going to do something stupid, do you want to have US Marines and Navy ships shooting you, or less-trained Islamist rebels who you might beat if organized?" Seriously. These are mostly fishermen who can't fish in the polluted waters anymore, and for whom other options have been closed off by the extremist and warlord-based silliness that's been going on. You think they're gonna stick around and keep it up when they find a few shiploads' worth of their buddies floating face-down? They'll either start trying to take their country back (which IMHO they should have been doing anyway) or start calling Somalia "that place we used to be from until it went insane".
