      Discrimination *only* applies to the State/Govt by subbywan 2009-04-10 01:27:29
and sometimes to others, by association. Anything that is independent of the Govt though, is free to discriminate as they like, for the most part.

Businesses are usually limited in how they can discriminate, because of Govt association (they get business licenses from the state/govt, and discrimination there could be considered state-sponsored because the State has to approve your licenses).

However, sex/gender is not considered a protected class, like women or blacks are, and so falls outside most discrimination laws.
