Radical idea that would never fly: by RetiQlum2 2009-04-02 21:55:10
About a 1/4 of the time when I use youtube it's music or something spoken. The video aspect isn't involved; I switch to another tab and continue with what I was doing. They could save oodles of bandwidth if you could just listen to something instead of having to download the whole video.

Of course to do that they'd have to acknowledge that 90% of the videos that are actually serving are copyrighted.

And another plan for saving the backbone of the internet goes into the bin.

Next: my plan to save MS millions in bandwidth costs by getting rid of Microsoft Genuine Disadvantage.
