ugh no kidding. by jaqie 2009-04-02 17:09:20
Ive had some horrid scam attempts from people trying to sell me crap for much inflated prices.

I remember once in tigerdirect outlet store a few years ago, I was checking out video cards, and a teenage sales goon tried to get me to buy another model which had a 128 bit interface to 512mb memory instead of the 256 bit interface to 256 bit memory one I was looking at. I let him go on about how memory is everything for a bit, and then proceeded to stop him mid sentence and explain just how important GPU<->vidRAM bandwidth is for the types of games I played at the time. He kinda got glazed over eyes and walked away in a daze after that...

Over the net it is really bad though because I "pass" much easier here... Ive had someone try to sell me a pentium 133 (best guess, they wouldnt even tell me what it was, just that it was overclocked to 200 and it was not MMX and that there was no such thing as a P200MMX) mobo, cpu, ram for $50 plus shipping (this was under a month ago)... talk about trying to scam someone!

Just a couple of the many "oh its a woman, easy profit" situations men have tried to force down my throat.
