Here's another way of putting the argument:
If I'm correct in concluding that my thoughts are entirely determined by natural processes, then I have no way to determine whether the conclusions produced by those natural processes are true - there's no particular reason they must be. But if I can't tell whether the conclusions produced by those natural processes are true, then I can't tell whether I'm correct in concluding that my thoughts are entirely determined by natural processes - a contradiction. |
