Where is Bridget Bardot when you need her? by run.dll2009-03-31 09:38:15
Perhaps she understands something... by werehatrack 2009-03-31 09:51:53
If you stand between an Aussie with a flame thrower and a cane toad, you *will* get toasted.

Besides, the seals are cute indigenous critters that were being bashed for (what is widely perceived as) luxury goods production. The cane toads are an imported pest species that's laying waste to the cute indigenous critters by eating them. Toad stabbing/shooting/torching/etc removes what is primarily an eyesore. And the toads are deadly to toy poodles that bite them. No French actress would dare to oppose genocide against something non-native that threatens toy poodles.

If the Aussies haven't figured it out yet, BTW, the toads dig themselves in during dry weather, and burning off a field won't destroy them in most cases; if it's dry enough to burn, they're underground. This is a pest that is *really hard* to eradicate.
