I'm pretty sure philosophers have debated that one for centuries. But it can be a real problem for scientists too. For instance, when is something "alive"? People have tried to come up with a general definition for a long time, yet any criteria set up so far either encompass things we cannot accept to be alive or exclude things we're certain are alive. It's just another aspect of classification that is indeterminable.
