It came out at the wrong time in my life. Too old to be interested in a High School angst series, too young for kids (who would be interested in a HS angst series). And soooo not into vampires. I thought the Buffy movie was amusing, and I thought the film explored the concept enough for me. It took 7 years of Stargate to get me to start watching that series (I also thought the film covered enough of the concept for that, too). (it actually took the leads from Farscape joining the cast, and then I had to get caught up on the backstory). Firefly was OK. The dialogue and ensemble were very good. I still could have lived without the wild west motifs.
