From here
Saw my doctor yesterday and after a few xrays, he sent me to get an MRI on my knee. Final tally?
ACL - torn (completely)
Lateral meniscus (cartilege) - torn
Tibia - damaged (don't know if it's cracked or what)
I get to go see the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow to talk about what they're going to do to fix it all.
The fact that I'd already had an ACL repair on this knee in 1993 (they took the replacement ACL from my patellar tendon) will probably complicate any surgical solution they provide. Same thing with the "focal tibial defect", which sound like I cracked my legbone. Normal ACL repair involves drilling into the legbones, so if the bone is damaged, I might not be able to get away with a quick, scope surgery.
Should be fun, whatever we decide for it. ;) |
