I haven't read/experienced much about SSDs.

But, rereading the thread, you mention several times that SSDs are unsuitable for HDD replacement.

Firehawk mentioned he uses one and loves it.

The two of you disagreed about their suitability as hard (disk) drive replacements.


aix tom chimed in that he thought they wouldn't be trustworthy for data but OS loading would be OK.


While you may have meant what aix tom said (OK for OS, not for data), most of your posts do read to be rather dismissive of the technology as a whole and certanly as hard drive replacements. "Hard drive replacement" may be the sticky phrase here, as I think of OS/data when I think of what's stored on a HDD.


At least that's how I read the thread.
