As a hard drive technology IMO it's as failed as RAMBUS was a RAM technology. Sure, for flash memory it's great, but it *IS NOT A HARD DRIVE REPLACEMENT*! That is what I have a problem with. RAMBUS was not RAM it was SAM, and in that and other fundamental ways it was flawed as a RAM technology because it simply isn't suited to the task in a very low level.
I hate how troglodytic hard drive technology is with a passion, and can't wait for a SUITABLE replacement for it, which is why I have been watching SSDs so closely, but this ain't it, folks. Perhaps MRAM will be what this promised to, who knows? |
