...I'm sure someone will come around and start nitpicking either term apart until no one really knows what they're supposed to believe any more, either about the meaning of the word, or which word they choose to identify themselves with.
So, let's just say I'm a-religious: religion (organised or otherwise) has no place in my life. I don't believe in a higher power, an afterlife or any of that, and I don't even really experience that as if there's something lacking from my life. In fact, if it weren't for the occasional thread on here, I'd hardly ever think about it at all. I've long ago decided that I didn't believe, and I don't think there's anything I could do that would make me believe, just as I don't think there's really anything a believer could do to make themselves un-believe; so I don't spend my time dwelling on it. |
