Downgrading laptop from Vista to XP? by asayogure 2009-03-23 15:18:02
Hello all,

When the end of production for XP was announced, I bought up a couple of extra copies of XP Pro for future use, because I loathe Vista with the heat of a white hot burning sun.

I am getting ready to buy a new ASUS laptop which is saddled with Vista. My question is, have any of you done this before, and run into any major problems? I know XP cannot support more than 4GB RAM under x86 32-bit. I also know that I will lose any built in support for specialized functions/software that comes pre-loaded on the system (ASUS systems usually come with recovery/driver disks, so I can always fall back to Vista, in a disaster).

Advice, wisdom, anecdotes?
