Sort of the "I reject reality and substitute my own". You're right that he's POTUS for the whole country whether you voted for him or not, but those who didn't generally don't see him as their president. And to be fair, Bush had the same issue. A lot of liberals said "He's the President, but he's not MY president". Stupid, but none the less, people think that way.
