It doesn't matter how much you try to prosecute them; they are following the standard Capitalist method. They just do advertising in a slightly more annoying way, and sell a very inferior product. Besides, nobody ever considers the penalties; they don't plan on getting caught.

Nope, the best way to make this thing unprofitable is to provide the purported service for free; automatically installed on all computer systems. There are already lots of products out there; I think most of us know them well. Make protection mandatory and free, installed along with the O/S (but leave the choice open still). Well, at least that is how I'd like to see it done.
