Mileage tax vs. fuel tax - "Privacy? What's that?" by Twitchh2009-03-23 08:03:34
You have a Ffuel Tax? by UnFair 2009-03-23 09:11:20
I really didn't know. People here in Europe are constantly complaing about our fuel taxes and comparing it to incredible low US gas prices that seem to be tax free. Our fuel gets taxed several times: fuel tax, environment tax and VAT on top of it all. Especially the environment tax is rising all the time to keep people from driving aimlessly.

And of course we pay a Tax for having a car ready for the street, too. That is taxed according to engine displacement, fuel type and exhaust classification. But not to fuel efficienty.
