UF book and German customs by thebia2009-02-11 09:11:33
Thats standard procedure by lordrefa 2009-02-14 13:01:57
You have to declare customs. When your delivery is with UPS, they may phone you before and you pay custom fees at your door to the deliverymam. The standard parcel service just hands over your parcel to customs and you need to claim it.
These offices have very "convenient" business hours, monday to friday 9am to 3pm if I recall correctly, so the average working person has trouble to claim his/her parcel.
When you are there, expect to open your parcel, let them take a look inside and
hand over your invoice and notice of payment (Visa card receipt ?).
You will have to pay around 7% of the total value (book + delivery) in VAT for a
book when the value is below 150¤. Above that, you first pay 13% customs and on
top of that 7% VAT for books or 19% for clothing.

it is below 150¤. Above
