Big project programming question by UGuardian2009-02-10 18:30:04
Depends on the programmer by hobbs2009-02-10 18:33:08
    It's a rather weird project by UGuardian 2009-02-10 18:52:27
It's a game, but while "RPG" sounds right it also seems wrong (ie, no combat, stats, random encounters or the usual roleplay game stuff).

The task that seems better suited to its own wee language is the NPC dialogue scripts. While I'm not crazy enough to aim for ALICE or Eliza or something like that it's more than just "say this". There's some decision-making stuff. Hard-coding it into the program won't work very well and won't be remotely readable for debugging/maintaining/updating.

Granted, the tiny language would only have 10 or less instructions. It just seems like an odd approach. Everything else is hard-coded or a static table of some sort.
