All the President's Meme's (Attn:Classic_Jon) by DesertRat662009-02-10 09:12:05

Influence in congress yes, control, no by Classic_Jon2009-02-10 11:05:36
But that influence is a hair shy of control by DesiredUsername 2009-02-10 13:38:09
in some cases. It's not as black/white as you keep stressing it is. As much as you keep pointing out that a 58(D) senate is not under (D) *CONTROL*, the recent cloture vote shows that it's a lot stronger than just 'influence'.

One amusing thing I heard was that the vote *against* the bill in the house was more bi-partisan than the cloture vote, since the vote against was all the (R) and more (D) than happened in the senate.

It is easy to play the blame game. When played poorly, then it serves no use other than trite sound bites. Instead though, it should be played as "Accountability", as in the elected officials should be Accountable for their actions (whether they're the leaders or not).

Fully agree with your other two paragraphs.. :-P
