                A matter of (mis)interpretation, perhaps? by Sharku 2009-02-10 12:43:07
SS said something like "after reading that, I need to go do something constructive now, instead of something destructive". The strong implication from SS was that if he did do something destructive, he'd regret it afterwards.

Now from what I gather, both subby and myself focused more on the destructive part of that sentence. I interpreted that destructive thing as something like breaking something or kicking the dog/cat. I think subby interpreted the destructive thing as something more selfdestructive, like SS getting stupidly drunk, pounding into a wall with his bare fists or worse even.

If I understand things correctly, you focused more on the constructive part of the sentence and thought SS would go out and try to fight this injustice, or prevent it from happening again.

So, starting from those two differing viewpoints, when subby said "don't get too mad over this", he actually meant "don't pound your knuckles raw on that wall" not "don't step in/don't try to prevent this from happening in the future". All of this assuming I correctly read the intentions of everyone involved of course.
