about:) Some of the first/old PS/2 MoBo's were not color coded or the backplane did not make them in any way so you had to just guess....

At my shops everyone wondered why the systems I built had "stop on all errors" turned on. With that setting on, the system would give you a KB error on boot and stop in the BIOS if the KB was not plugged in to the right port. The default setting on most BIOS' is "stop on all errors BUT keyboard."
