"Slow Down the Political Response... by jdelphiki2009-02-10 06:37:29

question.

The first words out of President Obamas mouth in the press conference were: "THE PRESIDENT: Good evening, everybody. Please be seated.
Before I take your questions tonight, I'd like to speak briefly about the **state of our economy and why I believe we need to put this recovery plan in motion as soon as possible**." (the ** are mine)

Even your link to CNN says "Transcript: Obama takes questions on economy"

If he was not going to talk aobut the Economy as a whole, why make that his opening statement, why would the press say the same thing? Again, What do we now know that we did not before the press conference? Why have this press conference if the Sec of the treasury is going to speak on it today in detail? What purpose did having Obama having a press conference serve if they are jsut goign to have another one that actually answeres questions the next day?

On your second point:
How am I jumping from topic to topic? I have asked the same question since my first post? "I also don't understand why Obama had a press conference aobut the Economy when he kept saying he was not going to go into specifics on it and let his people who were going to have a press conference later on it talk about the details. That made him sound uninformed on every economic policy question...which was the whole supposed point of the press conference I thought.... If he was not going to go into details on it...what was the purpose of the press conference?"

I seem to see a running thread of me asking what the purpose of the press conference was if they are going to go into detail today.

How is stating the same question jumping from topic to topic?
